we're perfecting our forward rolls.
daddy's forward rolls are pretty decent. mommy's belly is too big to even think about attempting. but von, well he's by far the best forward-roller around.
ARMS UP! BEND AT THE WAIST. FORWARD ROLL!! (that's our forward roll chant) YEY!!
we're on a smoothie kick here on inwood drive.
von doesnt mind though!
von may favor mommy in his looks, but he pretends to be daddy EVERY morning after josh leaves for work. it is incredibly cute.
as i get ready for the day, von will go into our closet, get a tie and say 'i go to cvs now. be home tonight. love you, have a good day mommy.' then he'll ask for help with his tie. after i 'tie' it, he'll ask for his watch, tell me he's taking the big big truck to cvs and to take care. it's honestly adorable. he says he's going to help people and work with tim (daddy's partner at cvs). about sixty seconds later, he knocks on the door and reenters, stating he's home and will cook dinner/set the table now. he proceeds to take his tie off and tell me all about his day. then we pretend eat and the cycle starts all over again. i could seriously flood this post with pictures of von with josh's ties on, but i'll refrain and just use these three. (occasionally, mommy gets a shout-out, and von will put a pair of my shoes on out of the closet and pretend he's going to the hospital to help people. clearly, the hospital is not nearly as cool to work at as cvs, hehee).
we love our little jr pharmacist :)
at first, it was what was inside the box that intrigued v-man. however, daddy was sneaky and unpacked the new stroller while von was sleeping, so then it turned into just being intrigued by the big box itself.
it started off as a spaceship and von was an astronaut.
then it became a race car.
then it was a big ball pit and we filled it with as many balls as we could find around the house.
next, it was mommy's car, and goofy served as the 'baby' in the backseat.
cant wait to see what tomorrow's adventures bring!!
tick, tock .. tick, tock ... gummy bear will be here soon!
thus, nursery prep has begun. daddy & grandma painted a few weekends ago (think 'pale cucumber' - very soothing) and it looks awesome! found a smoking deal on curtains, so currently awaiting the arrival of blinds, and then window treatments shall be installed. a few bedding/furniture items have been washed and now we just need to pick up a new crib mattress.
however, the best part of nursery prep so far has been von helping daddy put the crib together. von's pretty much excited to help with any and everything baby related, and i'm hoping that sticks after gummy bear gets here! he's just so cute cute cute.
ollie, however, isnt much help with gummy bear prep. she does, however, love the fact that the nursery has 3 glorious windows for sunbathing in.
we did it! we made it to columbus, despite the fact that old man winter tried to stop us. we were just too excited about meeting amelia, so we weren't gonna let a little snow ruin our trip. (all honesty, the drive to columbus wasnt bad. jamestown to erie was the only sketchy part. however, drive home was another story. you'd think the snow would have to stop at some point during a 300+ mile drive, but nope!)
anyways, miss amelia is adorable and von just loved her to pieces. in fact, he wanted to hug/hold/kiss/touch her pretty much non-stop. it was all just conformation of what an amazing big brother he's going to be come april :)
so back to our trip ... what a wonderfully relaxing time we had with the kellers. momma & anna got to chit-chat, just as best friends should, and we all spent some quality time simply adoring the kiddos :) we ventured to the mall on friday (it was amelia's first trip! although, with anna as her momma, i can assure you that it will NOT be her last, hehee) and other than that, just stayed cuddled inside. the zoo was on our agenda, but the bitter cold temperatures kept any outdoor activities at bay. ho hum :( oh, but an added bonus - von and i got to sleep together, which although can cramp one's sleeping style, it warmed my heart to snuggle up with my little love both nights.
hoping to see the kellers in may when they venture to olean to meet our newest addition (i'll also be able to get my 'amelia fix' in then too). win win!
well here we are, not even thru january and it's proving to be a long winter. stir-crazy is a good way to describe us at times. enter random indoor projects to help put in our days, especially these cold ones where we dont want to venture out at all. so let's make some 'glass marbles'.
balloons and food coloring. that's it. fill 'em up and put outside to freeze. luckily, we only had 2 minor explosions with the food coloring/water step, which was easily cleaned up with a few towels. old man winter cooperated quite a bit with the below zero temperatures this week and froze our balloons just fine. the reveal was fun too - cutting off the balloons and seeing what neat color swirls had formed inside. then i took them back out in the snow while von watched from the window so that we could admire them until they start melting (if it ever decides to warm up again!).
that's it. pretty simple, but fun. wonder what project is next??
