Christmas boots

did i mention that von got a new pair of boots for Christmas? and that he LOVES them?? he'll pretty much take them off, let's see ... under no circumstances. funny guy. love him to pieces!

a ma & pa visit

ma & pa came up on Christmas Eve's eve and spent the night with us. it was fun. there was some crawling under the pool table, book reading (what noise does a truck make, pa?), and smiles galore :)

and once again, von received many wonderful gifts. wooden blocks from the dorans, books from the d'amicos, and this snazzy rocking horse from grandma & grandpa!!

von actually fell asleep on our short ride home, which meant cruising around olean for a bit. nap for von, some quality time for josh & i, and then home to finish our Christmas day celebrating! good day (let's not mention the part about all three of us getting the flu bug later that night, booooo hisssss)!

Steffy Christmas

ok, time to back-track a little bit ...

so we headed to kittanning the weekend before Christmas to celebrate with the steffy side. fun fun. family time and relaxation, yesss! and von, well he was a lucky little boy ... he received his first hot wheels (harley davidson edition) from the rumbaughs and a shopping cart from ma & pa! lots of squeals and laughs for all three kiddos :)

sunday was the BIG family dinner with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins ... and needless to say it was a blast as well. good eats, great people, and celebrating Christmas - just doesnt get much better than that!

just the three of us, coffee, and some Christmas music ... OH, and the cutest little boy who really started to get the hang of ripping presents open :) santa left a recliner for dear von, as well as many other goodies.

last sunday while sitting at the dinner table, von simply looked at josh & i and said 'UH OH'! stunned, we asked him to say it again, to which he kindly obliged. we're thinking gavin and he must have had a 'secret exchanging session' where they traded some valuable 'how-to' information :)
von does pretty well in regards to applying his uh-oh skills (ie when he drops something) and it's also so cute because he puts such emphasis into it. UH OH!

lovelies weekend

this past weekend, we packed our house full with some of our dearest friends from our lecom days (and their husbands and babies too!). here's a breakdown:
* my original 'roomie' and her husband (melissa & phil) arrived friday.
* andrea arrived saturday with gavin (21 months) and raegan (3 months), while her husband michael is still serving in Afghanistan.
* and unfortunately, extenuating circumstances came up for anna & mark, so they were unable to make it at the last minute (boo)

we had some ellicottville fun on friday night, a delicious spragues breakfast saturday morning, and then some hardcore lounging the rest of the weekend. von was thrilled with all of the company and entertainment. he & gavin had lots of fun (only one fight over cheerios), while he also very much adored miss raegan. on a side note, it's almost uncanny how much gavin & von resemble each other at a quick glance ... almost same height, hair color, and just overall stature. cuties!!

a house full of friends, babies, laughter, and love .. couldnt ask for more!! just wish we all lived closer so that this could happen more frequently!
