errand running led to a spontaneous trip to tim horton's for lunch on monday ... yippie!  von kinda thought the donut case was the BEST THING EVER!  he has his momma's sweet tooth :)

 

jam session

the boys went upstairs after dinner the other night, which is odd, because they usually head to the basement for playtime while i clean up the dishes.  so after the kitchen was spotless (ha!), i headed up to see what the deal was.  and ta-da!  the josh-von duo was in full jam mode.  luckily, i was extended a generous invitation to be the lead vocalist (into the dollar tree plastic microphone/amplifier).  no joke, the music lasted a good 45 minutes.  von was dancing, playing 'instruments', singing, cheering, oh and sweating, like majorly sweating, because he was so into it.  our ensemble ended up consisting of mainly household items (think hairbrushes, tupperware, ottoman stool), but it ROCKED!  

we might have treated ourselves to some cold stone creamery ice cream as the perfect ending to our evening.

walked into my bedroom last week to discover that von had found my storage bin full of swimsuits, which he took upon himself to try every single one on.  daddy would most definitely not approve, but we called it 'our little secret' - until i posted it on the blog!

 

i think i'll go for a walk outside now

from a chilly 22 degrees to a beautiful 72 degrees, this weekend sure brought some odd weather with it.  we made the most of it on sunday and went for a good ol' family walk.  the walk turned into a leaf-pile-jumping party, which turned into a boy-loving-mud fest, which led to a tired von who wanted a ride on daddy's shoulders for the incline walk home (hehee, glad it wasnt my shoulders that he requested).  ollie was just ollie, the normal 'tug your arm off at first then realize she's 8 years old and slow down to an old lady stroll by the time we're on our walk home' :)

what a beautiful & gorgeous day last friday was - we almost skipped nap because it was so nice outside!  we enjoyed a leisurely stroll, a pretend picnic, some yard work, and a pizza party at the big person table.  it was a perfect day.  the storm clouds started rolling in, so we packed up and headed inside.  the fresh air must have had a hint of trytophan in it though, because we both zonked out hardcore :)
