yogurt, anyone?
von has eaten yogurt a million times over, yet for some reason, he decided to wear more than he ate tonight. little guy must've wanted to explore, and good for him!!! (ps, i called dish duty while josh was the lucky winner of von duty ... heheee, that makes it even more cute to me!)

bedtime
this is what the v-man looks like whens he's ready for bed. he always lets ya know when he's cashed out for the day. we'll be playing after bath, drinking some milk ... and then he just comes over to me and cuddles up (i love it!) and lets out a huge sigh. that's the sign to say nighty night to ollie, give daddy a kiss, go into von's room, say his prayers, and then drift off into dreamland. adorable :)

chambersburg
we packed up the car on thursday morning and hit the road for a long weekend trip. first stop: CHAMBERSBURG, PA to see melissa & phil!
von did amazing, and i seriously mean AMAZING, in the car. that made for a very happy mom & dad. upon arrival, von made himself right at home and treated melissa like his new best friend. most of the time, it takes him a bit to warm up to people, but not with melissa. he was crawling on her, holding her hand, kissing her, sitting on her lap, wanting her to pick him up (and so on). then phil came home from work .. and back into bashful mode went von. however, once again, he surprised us tremendously and started playing with phil.
and now for dylan & nomar (the furfaces). intrigued would be a good way to describe von at first with the cats. however, intrigue quickly turned into obsession. von couldnt stand not being in the same room as the cats. which led to a lot of running around and around the house. it was cute though, so none of us minded. after a long day of travel and excitement, we put von to bed and then enjoyed a night of pizza, micro brews, and reminiscing. fun fun!
friday was cold and windy, but we still managed to bundle up and walk over to feed the donkeys. von did his normal 'i think i like them but just dont get me too close' thing while we fed them an entire bag of carrots. some fireside sitting followed when we returned to the house and then a delicious (seriously delicious) lunch.
we plopped a very tired von into the car (he was out cold within 60 seconds) and headed south for the next portion of our journey.

and now for the second leg of our roadtrip ... RESTON, VA!!
we traveled down to see ashley & travis and had a nice relaxing weekend. we hit up the reston zoo (pretty cute for a kiddo von-sized), lingered around town center a few times, and just enjoyed the company. von took to ashley and her crazy-fun-loving activities pretty quickly. he also warmed up to travis too. however, the weekend truly belonged to foxy. VON ADORED THAT CAT!! he followed her from room to room, pet her, cuddled her, fed her treats, and just loved her to pieces. he'll have to readjust to ollie girl now that we're home, but based on his hugging her tonight, i think he'll be ok.
