zoo

well it might not have been a warm & sunny day, but our first trip to the zoo was still exciting and fun. the rain drizzled on us and it was a chilly 50 degrees, but we packed up and went to the pittsburgh zoo with auntie j, haydn, emry, and ma. we saw lions, and tigers, and bears (OH MY!) and lots of fish, not too many monkies, and of course, GIRAFFES!! we cant wait to go back and explore again another day!!

outside!

we did a little porch sitting before dinner tonight. von LOVES being outside .. however, now that he's mobile, it's near impossible to take your eye off of him for even a second. superdad came up with the bright idea to strap him into a carseat, all while sitting on the sidewalk. CRACKED ME UP. von thought it was great, although a little confusing. a massive thunderstorm blew thru literally 5 minutes later, but lucky for us that by then, we were dining on our grilled goods inside :)

look out world ...

von is officially MOBILE!
he's been inching for a bit, but it all finally came together for him late last week. needless to say, our world has completely changed now with a crawler :) von pulls himself up on whatever he can get his little hands on, which means the bumps/bruises tally is about to sky-rocket...

happy Easter

von thoroughly enjoyed his first Easter. he slept until 8:10 (yey!) then we went to church, where he always enjoys the music/singing, then he fell asleep on the ride home after such an 'exhausting' morning. the Easter bunny hid a basket (well not really hid, more like left it in the middle of the living room) for von to find, which brought a nice big smile to his face. then we went to grandma & grandpas house for a lunch/dinner meal this afternoon, where von enjoyed some homemade mac-n-cheese, then home for yet another nap. we finished off our night with some playtime, cuddling, bath, bananas (our go-to bedtime snack) and then lights out. phew! what a day, what a day!

this past weekend, we celebrated an early Easter with the steffy crew. the bunny hid baskets, the boys (minus von) went fishing, and we had a great big family dinner on sunday (which was scrumptious).

shoes

well, we attempted shoes for the first time today. von examined them, pinched them, and then attempted to see what they tasted like. just look at his little tube socks and loafers hanging out of the stroller during nap time. its official, every part of him is too cute!

spring has sprung ...

and is hopefully here to stay!
we caught the last minutes of the sunset before bath time tonight, and oh the fresh air was absolutely wonderful! von was loving all of the outside noises/breezes/sights ... i think it's going to be an AMAZING summer with him :)
