we packed up the car and headed to a little spot known as 'midway state park' today with grandma, grandpa, aunt tiff, mason, & norah. upon arrival, and much to our dismay, we discovered that the park was indeed open - however the rides were not operating. ARGH, to say the least! so instead of a ride-filled afternoon, we picnicked and walked around the grounds. nonetheless, it ended up being an enjoyably fun day. next summer, midway better look out for the invasion of mason, von, & norah - they are coming with a wrath!!! :)

well hello there, september!

tonight we welcomed the month that will bring autumn our way by playing in the rain. honestly, i cant remember the last time i felt so carefree and happy ... dancing with my one year old in the rain = PURE BLISS!! and to top that, von thought it was pretty darn cool that the raindrops just kept falling from the sky. he chuckled so hard every time a big fat water droplet plopped down on him :)

hiatus

well we havent been updating the blog much lately. not sure why ... maybe just the dog days of summer? anyways, here's a rundown of some fun facts from the last few weeks:

~ von turned 13 months old (holy cow!). he went for his one year check-up and here are his most recent stats ... 31.5" (85%) 21lbs (20%), so yes, he's still our little string bean.

~ von braved the stairs and now loves scooting down them on his bum, which makes him even more mobile!

~ he has started 'talking' .. dada is the most popular (although he seems to have stage fright in front of anyone other than josh or i). it's so exciting watching him grow!

~ we finally met the mcmillen twins during our trip to PA last week. collin, connor, and von turned the house into one big toy factory. pretty cute.

hopefully i'll get back in the swing of things soon and start updating the blog again!!

C-BUS

von & i traveled to columbus this past weekend to do some visiting.
we arrived at the kellers on friday, stretched our legs, and filled our bellies. then anna took us to the zoo, and as you can see, it tuckered the little guy out. next was a dinner party with the halls. von made a new friend - and even kissed & hugged - miss evalynn (of course i only captured the before/after shots, but i promise it was cute). then a solid night sleep for all.

saturday was a fun day in the neat little town of powell, followed by a trip to the enders house. abigail turned 3, so we went to celebrate at her birthday party. it was quite enjoyable, but a lot of newness for mr von, so he stayed close to momma (hence, no pictures). then it was back to the kellers for another wonderful night.

i wasnt able to get any pictures of von with the keller dobermans, mainly because he was pretty unsure of them, but they were quite comical all weekend as well.

drive was easy and i see many more roadtrips in our future!!

von is becoming much more adventurous in the tub - crawling, splashing, standing - he comes out looking like a prune every night!

john deere

von loves the tractor. LOVES the TRACTOR! havent had to mow much lately, but josh & von took 'er for a spin around the yard tonight. he's such a little boy anymore.
